The Road to Recovery
Supporting You at Every Stage of Your Journey.
The Schizophrenia Society of New Brunswick Inc. offers the following free programs across the province. All programs are available to New Brunswickers living with mental illness, their families, and caregivers. The generous support received from donors and community contributions makes these programs possible.
PROGRAM 1
Family Recovery Journey
Family Recovery Journey is a national program of the Schizophrenia Society of Canada. This course is designed for adult family members or friends of persons living with early psychosis. It is not intended to be taken by individuals who themselves live with psychosis, although individuals who are well along on their recovery journey may attend and find it useful, especially if they are also a parent or sibling of a person living with psychosis.

PROGRAM 2
Your Recovery Journey
Your Recovery Journey is intended to serve the needs of all people who have had experience with mental illness, regardless of their diagnosis or the stage they are at in their recovery. There are significant differences in the symptoms, course of illness, and treatment of different mental illnesses, but the recovery journey cuts across all of these.

PROGRAM 3
Your Mental Wellness Journey
Your Mental Wellness Journey was developed to address some of the very complex mental health needs of youth. Although the course is designed for ages 12 to 17, anyone can benefit from the material. The program aims to equip youth with the tools required to develop positive coping mechanisms, obtain a higher sense of self-esteem, and achieve stress management and mitigation skills.

PROGRAM 4
Your Personal Recovery Journey
Your Personal Recovery Journey is a recovery-focused program that helps individuals explore their personal path to recovery and wellness. Based on the CHIME framework, the program focuses on Connectedness, Hope, Identity, Meaning, and Empowerment. Through education, self-reflection, and group discussion, participants build on their strengths, develop coping strategies, and gain tools to support a meaningful and fulfilling life.
PROGRAM 5
ACHIEVES Employment Skills
The ACHIEVES Employment Skills program was developed in 2004 as an extension to the Community Academic Service Program (CASP) and has become an essential bridge to employment, independence, and self-sufficiency. Our mission is to provide support and training in the participant's journey to finding meaningful employment and achieving self-sufficiency. ACHIEVES is a FREE program that assists participants who are recovering from addiction, a life event, or mental illness and are ready to enter or re-enter the workforce to obtain the skills necessary to succeed. A certificate is awarded upon completion of the transition-to-work training program. ACHIEVES won the Program of Excellence Award, granted by the Schizophrenia Society of Canada, in 2011.

PROGRAM 6
J. Dean McAllister Bursary
The J. Dean McAllister Memorial Bursary is awarded annually to a high school graduate pursuing a career in the social sciences. Applications are accepted each spring.
